In this FAQ guide, we answer the most important questions about your journey so you can board stress-free and well informed.

How can I book tickets?

You can conveniently book Twin City Liner tickets online through the ticket shop. Alternatively, our booking center is available by phone at +43 1 904 88 80. You can find the exact opening hours here.

What promotions are available in 2026?

For 2026, the Twin City Liner offers several discounts:

  • Super Tuesday: Every Tuesday, senior citizens (60 and over), students, and those in compulsory military or alternative national service receive a 50% discount (excluding Captain's Lounge).
  • Apprentice special: Apprentices receive a 50% discount for the entire season.
  • Family weeks: During certain periods, two children/teenagers up to 17 years old travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
  • School offer: School groups of 15 or more pupils receive a 50% discount; two accompanying adults travel free of charge.
  • Red Tickets: A limited number of tickets available for just €28 per journey.

Where are the landing stages located?

  • Vienna: Ship station Vienna City, Franz-Josefs-Kai 2, Schwedenplatz/Kai, 1010 Vienna.
  • Bratislava: Pontoon HUMA6, Rázusovo nábrežie, 81102 Bratislava.

What documents do I need for the journey?

A valid passport or national ID card is required for travel with the Twin City Liner (for EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens). Children also need their own travel document. Please check the current entry requirements, especially if you are not an EU citizen.

Can I rebook or cancel my ticket?

  • Rebooking: Possible up to 48 hours before departure for a fee of €10 per person.
  • Cancellation: Up to 48 hours before departure, 50% of the fare is charged; after that, 100%.

When does boarding start?

Boarding begins 30 minutes before departure. Please have your ticket and passport ready.

Can I bring pets or bicycles?

  • Dogs: Allowed for a surcharge of €5. A valid EU pet passport, muzzle, and leash are required.
  • Bicycles: 12 spaces are available, with a surcharge of €5 per bicycle. Advance registration is required. Fat bikes, tandems, and bicycle trailers cannot be transported.

Can I bring luggage?

Hand luggage up to 9 kg is included in the fare. For larger or heavier luggage, please contact the booking center to clarify transport options.

Is food and drink available on board?

Yes, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs are available on board. Enjoy a Viennese melange with topfenstrudel during your journey.

Is the Twin City Liner wheelchair accessible?

Yes, there are two wheelchair spaces on board. Advance registration is required, and wheelchair users must be accompanied by a companion. Motorized wheelchairs must not exceed a weight of 60 kg. Details on accessibility can be found in the General Terms and Conditions.

Does the Twin City Liner have WiFi?

Yes, the Twin City Liner offers satellite WiFi for passengers, so you can stay online during your journey.
